Turning Auto-wake on or off

Auto-wake lets you turn on your product without a remote control. For example, your Bose product can power on automatically when you turn on your TV or cable box.

Turn on or off the Auto-wake feature.

TVs or devices plugged into your speaker

When Auto-wake is on, your system automatically powers on when sound is received. When Auto-wake is off, your system powers on only when your press the power button on the remote control. (Note: If connected via HDMI, the HDMI-CEC [Consumer Electronics Control] feature in your TV can automatially turn your product on or off, which will override the Auto-wake setting.)

On the remote control, press and hold the Power button for about five seconds until a tone is heard and the light on your product blinks amber. An ascending tone means Auto-wake is on; a descending tone means Auto-wake is off.

Bluetooth devices

The Auto-wake feature is for devices plugged in to your speaker. For more info, see the section above.

Wireless Bluetooth devices can power on your speaker even with Auto-wake off. Just go to the Bluetooth menu on a device you have previously connected (e.g. smartphone or tablet), select your speaker, and it will power on your speaker. Fora Bluetooth device you haven't previously connected, you'll need to connect once before this will work. For more info, see Connecting a Bluetooth device.
