CDs do not play
Information and troubleshooting steps for issues with CD playback not starting, or taking a long time to start playing
Be sure your system supports the type of disc you are trying to play.
If the issue is with certain types of discs, check that your system supports that type of disc. For more info, see Disc compatibility charts.
Be sure the disc is inserted with the label facing up.
Place the disc in your system with labelled side of the disc facing upward. If there is no label, try playing the other side of the disc.
See if your product is playing the CD but not producing sound.
Check if the CD track time on the product display is advancing. If it is but you cannot hear sound from the CD, see No audio from product.
Check for scratches, fingerprints or other physical damage.
The disc may be scratched or damaged which may prevent it from playing properly.
Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more info, see Resetting your product.
Check if the disc works in a different disc player.
If available, try playing the disc in a different disc player. If the same issue occurs, the issue is with the disc.
For homemade media, try a different brand of disc, different software or different burning settings.
Different disc players can respond differently to burned media. If you have trouble playing burned discs, try burning a different brand of disc. You can also try different disc burning software. In the software settings, try selecting a slower burning speed (e.g. 4x or 8x). Additionally, if the software has an option to finalize the disc, select that also before burning.
Try relocating the Wave system to another area and power outlet.
Other electronics can cause interference affecting your Wave system if they're on the same power circuit or nearby. Try moving the Wave system away from (or unplug the power to) such devices like chargers, old electronics, holiday lights, or microwaves. If that helps, plug the Wave system (or the device causing the problem) into a different power outlet, or move them farther apart.
